Kaufland Winter Classic Games 2019 was an outdoor event that took place in Banská Bystrica on 2 and 3 February. It was the first ever competitive outdoor game in Slovakia. Twelve IIHF World Champions and six Stanley Cup holders were on the ice. The spectators could once again admire the art of Slovak stars of the past such as Peter Bondra, Michal Handzuš, Miroslav Šatan, Ľubomír Višňovský, Ján Lašák, Tomáš Kopecký and Jozef Stümpel. The SNP athletics and football stadium in Štiavnicky first hosted the match of legends, then the match of the 40th round of the Tipsport league Banská Bystrica - Zvolen

The beginning of the match was marred by doubts whether the match would be played at all. In the continuous rain, pools of water formed on the ice and the roller had to do its best to partially pour it off the rink. Despite the complications, we managed it together with our implementation team and the match of the 40th round of the Tipsport league between Banská Bystrica and Zvolen could be played. The atmosphere was unforgettable and unique. Fans of both teams cheered even in bad weather and it was exceptional and unusual. The winner of the Pohron derby was Zvolen. The match was watched by 7500 spectators (sold out).
